UnipolSai supports Banco Alimentare for the 22nd National Food Collection Day
For the twelfth consecutive year UnipolSai Assicurazioni will be supporting NPO Fondazione Banco Alimentare for the 22nd National Food Collection Day on Saturday 24 November.
In 2017 a total of 8200 tonnes of food was donated by 5.5 million Italians and, like every year, the aim now is to improve on this figure and donate even more. The 145,000 volunteers in over 13,000 supermarkets across Italy will be working hard to achieve this goal. As ever, they will be asking people to donate long-life food products, which will later be distributed to 8042 charitable organisations to support over 1.58 million people in need in Italy, including close to 140,000 children.
Not just an act of generosity towards all those in the country who can’t afford to feed themselves, but also a strong signal from UnipolSai which once again confirms its commitment to the social sphere, as per the social responsibility principles of the Unipol Group. Principles that have always revolved around promoting the health and wellbeing of people and which translate into support for initiatives, like National Food Collection Day, which seek to help improve the lives of both individuals and society as a whole.
